KVS to Launch Samvaad Parent Connect App, Bringing Attendance, Results and School Notices to Parents’ Phones Across 1,200+ Kendriya Vidyalayas

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is preparing to launch the KVS Samvaad-Parent Connect App, giving verified parents in more than 1,200 Kendriya Vidyalayas mobile and web access to attendance, academic performance, results and official school communication, with parent mobile and email verification on the SAMAGAM portal due...

Parents of children studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas may soon no longer need to wait for the next parent-teacher meeting to know how their ward is doing. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is getting ready to roll out the KVS Samvaad-Parent Connect App, a single mobile and web platform that will put attendance, academic performance and official school communication directly in parents’ hands across more than 1,200 Kendriya Vidyalayas nationwide.

The move, reported by The Times of India on 31 October 2026, is one of the largest parent-facing digital rollouts in India’s central school system and is aimed at making routine monitoring simpler and more transparent for families.

What parents will see on the app

  • Attendance at a glance: how many days a child was present or absent in a given month.
  • Academic progress: performance records that show whether a student is improving or slipping.
  • Results and announcements: school notices, results and the latest updates in one place.
  • Official communication: a direct, documented channel between the school and the family, replacing scattered messages.

Verified parents only

Access will be limited to verified parents. KVS has told all Kendriya Vidyalayas to finish mandatory verification of parents’ mobile numbers and email addresses on its SAMAGAM portal before the launch, and families whose details are not verified will be locked out of the app.

Under the process, class teachers verify each student’s contact details from the student information system (SIS) once the student’s profile is marked complete. Separate one-time passwords (OTPs) go to the parent’s registered mobile number and email address, and the parent shares both with the class teacher to authenticate.

KVS has set 6 November 2026 as the deadline for completing verification. Schools have been asked to hold phased parent-teacher meetings where needed to help families through the process, while regional offices and principals are to track progress daily. The Sangathan has also warned that OTPs are confidential and must not be shared over phone calls, WhatsApp groups or other public messaging channels, and a step-by-step user guide is being circulated to every Vidyalaya to ensure full compliance.

Why it matters

Kendriya Vidyalayas serve children of central government employees, including defence and paramilitary families who move frequently between postings. A common digital record that follows the student, and that parents can check from anywhere, addresses a long-standing gap in how these families keep track of schooling.

The rollout also reflects a broader shift in school education under NEP 2020 towards data-driven, transparent parent engagement, where the school-family relationship runs on continuous information rather than periodic meetings. Building the app on top of verified SAMAGAM data, rather than open sign-ups, puts the emphasis on data accuracy and on protecting student records.

The app is expected to go live in the coming months once the verification drive is complete.
