Odisha launches ‘AI Course for All’ to build future-ready skills

The Odisha government has stepped up its focus on artificial intelligence and digital skills by launching the ‘AI Course for All’ programme and signing agreements with three organisations to strengthen skill development across higher education institutions.

The state’s Higher Education Department has partnered with CSRBOX, Naandi Foundation and Odisha Knowledge Corporation Ltd (OKCL) to expand learning and employability opportunities for students. A key initiative with IBM-CSRBOX is expected to benefit more than 1.25 lakh students through online courses, workshops and project-based learning. Training will cover areas such as AI, digital literacy, enterprise design thinking and project management.

Special attention will be given to students from 107 higher education institutions located in remote and aspirational districts. The partnership with Naandi Foundation will provide offline training for final-year female students, focusing on financial literacy, critical thinking, public speaking and communication.

Through OKCL, students will receive 30 hours of communication skills training and 10 hours of AI-focused digital learning. Meanwhile, the ‘AI Course for All’ initiative, developed in collaboration with NASSCOM, aims to provide AI learning opportunities to more than one lakh students and working faculty members across the state.

The government has also introduced an Academic Performance Assessment Portal, which will evaluate higher education institutions using 52 indicators.

The initiatives highlight Odisha’s growing emphasis on AI literacy, digital transformation and employability, with the objective of preparing students and educators for an increasingly technology-driven economy.
