Mizoram strengthens digital governance with Smart ATI app and learning lab

Mizoram has taken another step towards technology-enabled governance with Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurating the Smart ATI App, Smart Classroom and Digital Learning Laboratory at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Aizawl. The initiatives are aimed at modernising government training and building a digitally skilled workforce.

The newly launched Smart ATI App will provide government employees with a single platform to explore training programmes, register for courses, track applications, receive notifications and access attendance records, learning materials, training history and certificates. Employees will also be able to store their service and personal details, reducing the need for repeated registration.

The Digital Learning Laboratory has been established under the Mission Karmayogi framework with financial support of ₹67.19 lakh from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The facility is expected to support technology-based training and help government personnel develop capabilities relevant to modern administration.

Lalduhoma said Mizoram is working towards becoming a “Digital State”, highlighting the importance of both technology and digitally capable government employees. Since December 2023, the state has developed or initiated 36 digital portals, with 19 already operational.

Adding a local-language dimension, ATI faculty have also developed six training courses in Mizo, which have been approved by DoPT and made available through the iGOT Karmayogi platform.

The initiative reflects Mizoram’s broader push towards digital governance, workforce development and technology-enabled public administration.
