The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has announced a five-week online certification programme focused on Python, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL).
The programme will run from December 14, 2026, to January 15, 2027, and will be conducted online through Zoom. It is designed for students, researchers, faculty members, industry professionals and R&D personnel seeking practical exposure to AI and machine learning technologies.
Practical Learning With Python
Participants will work on Python-based projects using real-world datasets as part of the programme.
The course will cover widely used Python and AI/ML tools, including NumPy, Linalg, Matplotlib, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow and Keras.
The programme is being coordinated by Professor Aditya K Jagannatham, Professor and Arun Kumar Chair at IIT Kanpur.
Focus on AI, ML and Deep Learning
The certification programme will introduce participants to the practical implementation of algorithms and software used in AI, machine learning, neural networks and deep learning.
It will also include problem-solving sessions designed to help participants strengthen their understanding of technical concepts and prepare for tests and job interviews.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to students from multiple academic backgrounds, including BTech, BE, BSc, BBA and BCA, as well as MTech, ME, MSc, MBA and MCA students.
PhD scholars, faculty members from engineering, science and management disciplines, and professionals working in industry and R&D organisations can also participate.
Focus on Project-Based Skills
Along with Python programming, the programme will focus on applying coding skills to emerging AI and ML technologies. Participants will work with practical datasets and explore different packages for developing projects and applications.
The course will also cover the use of Python and related tools for virtual laboratories and project guidance.
Registration Deadlines
IIT Kanpur has announced multiple registration windows:
- Golden registration: October 4, 2026
- Flash registration: October 25, 2026
- Early-bird registration: November 8, 2026
- Regular registration: November 29, 2026
