Doon University signs MoU with Mexico’s CINVESTAV to expand research collaboration

Doon University, Uttarakhand, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mexico’s Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) to strengthen academic, scientific and research cooperation between India and Mexico. The agreement was signed on September 11, 2026, marking a new step in international collaboration in higher education.

The partnership will create opportunities for joint research projects, faculty and researcher exchanges, student mobility, academic programmes, seminars, conferences and workshops. Both institutions will also explore the possibility of developing joint degree programmes in the future.

The collaboration will cover a wide range of disciplines, including computer science, physics, mathematics, economics, biological sciences, environmental sciences, psychology, design, culture and urban development management. The initiative is expected to encourage interdisciplinary research and knowledge sharing between Indian and Mexican researchers.

CINVESTAV, established in 1961, is a federally funded Mexican research institution with 11 campuses and expertise spanning natural sciences, engineering and humanities. Doon University, meanwhile, is a state-funded university in Uttarakhand and holds NAAC Grade A accreditation.
